Despite her beauty on the outside a loneliness yearned inside her. Hopes and dreams unfulfilled, yet pure of heart and passion. All that's missing is someone to share it with.
This was an image I had worked on a few weeks ago and ended up evolving into something else. Then the other night my muse tapped me on the shoulder and suggested that I bring her to life.
It's funny, before I ever read your Artist's Comments, I looked into her face and thought, "She has a slight curve of a smile on her face, but there's just something very melancholy about her eyes. "
That is true artistry.
So often, Vicky's eyes can appear almost soulless. After all, she's just a doll, right? But in the hands of someone as talented as you, her eyes tell a completely different story than the curve of her lips.
The point of art, for me, has always been about telling a story. Art is more than just beautifully arranged colors on a canvas. It's the wind on your face. The sun on your skin. The beat of your heart. The sorrow, the anger, the joy of your soul.
It's life, captured in the very moment that we're living it.
I see all of these things in this image that you've gifted us with.
Technically, your work is spot on. You capture the creamy textures of the human skin so beautifully. There's never anything plastic in your images. If I could reach through the screen and touch one of your models, I know that her skin would feel soft and warm where the sunlight is so gracefully touching her face. And I know that her hand would be cool as the breeze brushes against it and carries the smoke of her cigarette across the room.
The blue that you've chosen for the background is a perfect compliment for the color of her hair. Any lighter or darker and it just wouldn't have had the same impact. And I'm sure it's no accident that it echoes the color of her eyes. Those are the little details that I've come to expect from you and you never disappoint me.
Very sexy, with such a REAL feel to it...she looks so comfortable yet there is something that she is hiding, something she wants (or someONE) great work

Well done, Stage.
