"Ok, so what you're saying it, this is NOT the bed and breakfast?"
Is used the Victorian mansion prop from Daz for this, which is really a cool model, but the textures that come with it look like a cartoon character. So I redid all the textures by hand, which was a lot of fun, but a lot of work too.
First of all, I want to say GREAT job with the textures on this! They really look great and the time investment definitely paid off. I am particularly taken by the frosted glass in the door, and the grungy brass door-handle. Also the neon lights, but that's just because I'm fascinated with neon lights. My one critique on the textures is the wood on the door. It seems kind of smooth and sort of flat, especially compared to the great physicality of the other wood textures--the roughness of the paneling and the slick veneer of the window-frame. When you look at the door next to those, it just kind of falls short. I think it may partly be do to the lighting, since the texture seems to improve towards the bottom of the door.
The lighting in the piece is great, except for that one part of washing out the wood door. It is very dramatic, but there is a good contrast going on that lets the viewer see everything that is happening in the piece. But it's not too "floodlit", like a hotel-chain would have. I like that, it gives this place a casual and less industrial feel.
I have saved the character for last because I simply do not see any flaws with her. The pose is perfect, she is obviously leaning against the frame, and the pose is natural for someone who is putting the majority of their weight on some part of the environment. Posing with a central centre of gravity is very different from posing with a shifted centre of gravity, and you have pulled it off perfectly in this piece. Not to mention the great design of the character in general--that tattoo is totally rocking my world. The hair is pretty spiff, too.
All in all you have a phenomenal piece going on here and I want to congratulate you on a job well done. So without further ado,
Oh wow! I've been really remiss in looking at my deviations. This is fantastic! I love the atmosphere that you have going on here. The pose is wonderful, too. Very sultry.
I wonder if she has a pair of pointy fangs hiding behind those plush lips?
